Ingredients
2 romaine hearts, halved
1/8 c sliced strawberries
1/4 c Buona Cucina Mild Extra Virgin Olive Oil for brushing
1/4 tsp. sea salt
1/4 tsp. black pepper
Ingredients for Roasted Walnuts
1/4 c crushed walnuts
Black Pepper to taste
1/8 cup Maple Syrup
Directions for Romaine
Preheat your grill to medium.
Halve the romaine hearts lengthwise and give them a good rinse. Pat dry and then prepare the dressing.
Whisk the olive oil, sea salt, and black pepper in a small bowl.
Liberally brush the cut-sides of the romaine hearts with the Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
Place the romaine hearts cut side down on the grill and cook for two minutes. Flip and grill for one additional minute.
Remove the halved romaine hearts from the grill and enjoy. You have the option to drizzle with the Dark Cherry Balsamic Vinaigrette or a little extra balsamic dressing on the lettuce for added flavor.
Top with Roasted Walnuts and Pecorino Cheese and small serving of sliced strawberries on top
Directions for Walnuts
Preheat oven to 375 F
Crush Walnuts in Ziplock bag, have bag slightly open, not to pop the bag
Add Maple syrup and black pepper and mix in bag
Put Walnuts on oven safe pan and cook for 12 minutes or until golden brown.
