INGREDENTS
1 ½ pounds of French green beans trimmed
4 slices bacon
¼ cup thinly sliced shallot
¼ cup Buona Cucina Premium White Balsamic Vinegar
2 tablespoons firmly packed brown light brown sugar
DIRECTIONS
Bring a large pot of water to a boil over medium-high heat; add green beans. When water returns to a boil, immediately drain green beans, and transfer to an ice water bath to stop the cooking process. Place in a serving dish: set aside.
In a medium skillet, cook bacon over medium heat until crisp. Remove bacon, and let drain on a paper towels, reserving drippings in a skillet.
Add shallot to skillet: cook over medium-high heat for 1 minute. Remove from heat; add vinegar and brown sugar, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Crumble bacon into vinegar mixture: stir well. Pour vinegar mixture over beans: toss gently to coat.
